Heat performance and shade are two separate things. Visible light transmission describes how much light passes through the film, which is what sets the appearance of the glass. Solar heat performance is measured separately and depends on the film's construction, so a lighter ceramic film can still manage heat well and a darker film is not automatically cooler. When you compare options, look at the figures published for the exact film and shade, and ask your installer to walk you through them alongside the glazing already in your vehicle.

Freshly applied film needs a little time before the windows are used, so follow the curing advice your installer gives you. After that, clean the inside of the glass with a soft cloth and a mild, ammonia-free cleaner, and avoid abrasive pads or scrapers on the filmed surface.
